Amazing renovation of this Coorparoo property.
The old entry and sun room has been stripped out and replaced with a proper covered entry area. The huge glass sliding door facing the park are creating new relation between the new open and unique space and adjacent park.

A recent shoot for the award winning Peter Bell Homes, enabled me to capture the many architectural design elements that are synonymous with their custom design builds for over 4 generations. Located in the picturesque Brisbane suburb of Corinda, the Spencer Street home flaunts a modern design whilst also remaining sympathetic to the local area featuring primarily renovated traditional homes. Set on a narrow corner lot, Peter Bell Homes have designed a home that takes full advantage of all aspects of its positioning and creates an impressive external statement to both street frontages.
The clever use of rustic reclaimed brickwork, exposed timber beams, deep chamfer weatherboards, pitched rooves, specifically posited windows and decorative battening have helped create the classic rectangular and triangular lines compatible with a traditional barn feel. This contributes to a home that combines immense elevation of space with a familiar and comforting warmth.
Two verandahs on opposing sides of the home help merge the external environment with the warmth and cosiness of the internal. A deep easterly verandah provides the perfect counterpoint for exposure on the north and south façade, whilst the west facing verandah contributes an extensive sheltered space. Featuring specialised window glazing in their construction, they also offer a protective design element, ensuring internal thermal control throughout the seasons. The perfect solution to a Queensland climate notorious for its extremes in temperature at various times, and a lifestyle that embraces the outdoors.
From recycled brickwork that helps ground this design in history, to the contemporary use of timber beams, trusses, smooth timber stairs, mixed hardwood flooring and the creation of cavernous living spaces that meld together rustic and modern innovation, Peter Bell Homes have designed and built a home that provides a modern slant with old world charm. Bucolic barn meets contemporary design, and the result is structurally and aesthetically captivating. Custom designs like this showcase why Peter Bell Homes have earned the title of most respected home builders in Qld.

It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in shooting the recently opened Sunshine Coast University Hospital at Kawana, showcasing the innovative lighting for Albert Smith Signs. In partnership with Lubi Thomas and Adrian Davis’ creative and engineering skills, Albert Smith Designs designed the opal pod inserts allowing for pod illumination. Waterproofed and carrying a long life span of 50,000 hrs, the lights are purpose built to withstand outdoor environmental conditions.
Highlighting Place Design Group’s contemporary landscape architecture, the lanterns lining the pathway provide an impressive illuminating presence. Fitted with weatherproof junction boxes, and 200 meters of LED contour strip, the lanterns complement the use of natural environmental features, skilfully incorporated in both the architecture and landscape design.
Architectus Brisbane in association with Rice Daubney Architects have creatively merged buildings with landscape, taking full advantage of the climate, lifestyle and environment. Albert Smith Signs also embrace this holistic approach when it comes to their architectural projects, delivering creative and constructive lighting solutions.
Set to revolutionise healthcare on the Sunshine Coast, the newly completed University Hospital boasts original contemporary flare in unity with its natural environment. Albert Smith Signs in collaboration with DavisThomas have contributed to this neoteric approach with outdoor illumination that highlights the landscape and architectural features, whilst also physically contributing to its modern canvas.

Finish the time of low set bricks building as only choice for retirement living.. I had the chance recently to photograph the new Tricare Development in Stafford, Brisbane. This development offers a whole new way of living from independent houses to townhouses to modern apartments overlooking a beautiful lake including all the facilities you would dream of, pools, gym, restaurants and of course all the health support needed.
This is good news for all of us to think that if we have to one day we can live with the support we need in a beautiful hotel looking environment...

This historic New Farm property has been styled by Showhomes ready for sale. This is such a beautiful home right in the heart of New Farm. I was lucky enough to photograph this property once the styling was completed. Again amazing job from ShowHomes. I had the opportunity to shoot the historical Post Office building that undergo renovation in 2009 and open its door in 2010 as Moo Moo Restaurant. Moo Moo won multiple awards as best Steak Restaurant. This building retains its heritage while mixing modern elements.
